??? Questions

Below are some of the main questions I get asked. However, if you have any other questions then please don’t hesitate to drop me a message.

  • Great question! Although breathing happens automatically, how we breathe has a direct impact on our mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Many people unconsciously adopt shallow or rapid breathing patterns, especially during stress or anxiety, which can actually worsen those feelings. Learning to breathe with awareness can calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, improve focus, and help regulate emotions. It’s a simple yet powerful tool that brings us back to the present moment, creating space to respond rather than react. In short, learning to breathe mindfully gives you greater control over how you feel and how you move through the world.

  • Meditation is a powerful process with an incredible number of benefits including stress reduction, promotion of emotional and physical health, enhances self-awareness, improves focus and attention, helps with sleep, improves blood pressure.

  • Meditation is a process that has to be practised to see results; it’s not about instant gratification. I will work with you so that you learn how to meditate properly.

  • Yes, it is completely safe. It is a non-invasive technique. You cannot be ‘forced’ into hypnosis or made to do something against your will. The experience is based upon your willingness and co-operation.

  • No. You are in control the whole time. You are still aware and in charge of your actions.

  • There are no side effects. Some people report feeling more relaxed or more energised after a session. Others may feel a bit disorientated as they return to a normal state of awareness however this passes quickly.

  • While both practices share common ground in promoting relaxation and deep focus, they serve different purposes and can be viewed distinctly.

Meditation involves a deep state of relaxation combined with focused awareness, aimed at enhancing self-awareness. It can be easily integrated into your personal daily routine as a self-directed practice.

In contrast, hypnotherapy is a guided therapeutic approach designed to target specific problems. It works by tapping into the subconscious mind to encourage shifts in thoughts and behaviours.

  • It is a goal-orientated, future-focused approach which helps guide people to a place of empowerment. It focuses on finding solutions rather than analysing problems so that they can create positive change to move forward in life.

  • Counselling is a specialised form of helping focused on emotional health issues.

Skilled Helping is a broader, less formal concept that can apply to many different types of support in various aspects of life including practical guidance and personal development.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) works by combining tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on the emotional issue you want to address. The goal is to help you process negative emotions or physical discomfort by clearing emotional blockages in your energy system. EFT is based on the idea that emotional distress is caused by disruptions in the body's energy system, and tapping on these points helps restore balance.

  • Studies show it to be helpful for reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and stress, as well as for managing pain. Many users also report personal success in overcoming limiting beliefs, fears, and habits.

  • EFT is a safe and gentle technique. Some people can feel tired after an EFT session because emotional processing takes energy.
